Destimulate was born from my own frustrations as a screen addict.

For far too long, mindless scrolling destroyed my focus and distracted me from my full potential.

My “oh shit” wake-up call came when a screen time calculator revealed I was on track to spend 22.13 years of my remaining life staring at my phone. Unacceptably grim.

That moment sparked my obsession with winning back my attention.

Since then, I’ve tested countless apps, settings, tools, rules, and routines to effectively shield my attention from digital overstimulation.

I figured it’d be helpful to distill what I’ve learned here.

Seneca once wrote:

“People are frugal in guarding their personal property; but as soon as it comes to squandering time, they are most wasteful of the one thing in which it is right to be stingy.”

Time is money. You must safeguard your attention like a bank.
